How to use Krisp
Krisp sits between your microphone and any calling app as a virtual mic and speaker. You install it once, pick "Krisp Microphone" inside Zoom, Teams, Meet, or Discord, and it cleans your audio in both directions from then on. Here is the whole setup, and how the notes work.
How Krisp works
Krisp registers a virtual microphone and a virtual speaker on your computer. When you select them in a calling app, your audio passes through Krisp first, which strips background noise from your outgoing voice and from the incoming audio, on your device. It can also transcribe the call and write AI notes if you turn those on.
Set it up in four steps
- Install Krisp on Windows, Mac, or mobile. See the download guide. No credit card to start the trial.
- Open Krisp and pick your real microphone and speaker as the input devices, then turn on noise cancellation.
- In your calling app, open the audio settings and set the Input to Krisp Microphone and the Output to Krisp Speaker.
- Start a call. Background noise is removed in both directions. You do this device selection once per app.
Turn on AI notes (optional)
If you want a recap, enable the AI note-taker in Krisp before the call. After the meeting you get a summary and action items you can share. Notes and transcription are separate cloud features you switch on yourself; the noise cancellation runs on your device either way.
Per-app setup guides
The device names are the same everywhere, but each app puts the audio settings in a slightly different place:

The 7-day free trial needs no card. One call is enough to hear the difference.
FAQ

Install Krisp, turn on noise cancellation in the app, then set your calling app's input to "Krisp Microphone". From then on your outgoing and incoming audio are cleaned automatically.
It also transcribes calls and writes AI meeting notes with action items, and offers accent conversion. Those are optional features you switch on; the core job is clean audio on any app.
