Krisp for Mac
Krisp runs natively on Mac, and setup is quick, but there is one macOS step that catches people out: microphone permissions. Here is the full setup, including the part Apple hides in System Settings.
Install and sign in
- Download the Krisp app for Mac from the official site and open the installer. See our download guide for the general steps.
- Sign in or create a free account.
- Krisp adds a virtual microphone and speaker that your calling apps can use.
Grant microphone permission (the step people miss)
macOS blocks apps from using the mic until you allow it. If Krisp is not cleaning your audio, this is almost always why.
- Open System Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Microphone.
- Turn on the toggle for Krisp.
- Restart Krisp if it was already open.
Select Krisp in your calling app
In your app's audio settings, choose Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker. We have per-app guides for Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet.
Set up Krisp on your Mac
The free plan needs no card, so you can test it on a real call right away.
FAQ
Yes. Krisp has a native Mac app, alongside Windows and mobile apps. Just remember to grant microphone permission in System Settings under Privacy and Security.
The most common cause is that macOS has not been given microphone permission for Krisp. Enable it in System Settings, Privacy and Security, Microphone, then restart Krisp.
