Krisp on Zoom
Zoom has its own noise suppression, but it is limited and only cleans your outgoing audio. Krisp cleans both directions and works far more aggressively on background noise. Here is how to set it up.
Step by step
- Download and install Krisp, then open it.
- In Krisp, set your real microphone and speaker as the input and output devices, and toggle noise cancellation on.
- Open Zoom, go to Settings > Audio.
- Under Microphone, choose Krisp Microphone. Under Speaker, choose Krisp Speaker.
- Set Zoom's own Background noise suppression to Low. This stops Zoom from fighting Krisp, so Krisp does the heavy lifting.
That is it. Krisp now removes keyboard noise, fans, traffic, and background chatter from your calls.
Set it up before your next Zoom call
The free plan covers 60 minutes a day with no card, enough to test it live.
FAQ
Set Zoom noise suppression to Low rather than off. Low does not interfere with Krisp, while higher settings can double-process and hurt quality.
Yes. Krisp is bidirectional, so it can remove noise from incoming audio as well, which helps when someone else on the call is in a noisy place.
