What is Krisp?
Krisp is a voice AI app that cleans up your audio on calls and turns your meetings into notes. It sits between your microphone and any calling app, removing background noise, echo, and even the voices of other people in your room before they reach the call. Over time it has grown from a pure noise-cancellation tool into a wider voice assistant that also records, transcribes, and summarizes meetings.
New to it? Our guide on how to use Krisp walks through setup in four steps.
What the Krisp app does
- Noise cancellation: removes background noise in both directions, so you and the person you are talking to both sound clear.
- Works on any app: it adds a virtual microphone, so it works on top of Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Discord, and any other calling app.
- AI notes: it can record a meeting without a bot joining, transcribe it in 17 languages, and generate summaries and action items.
- More voice AI: accent conversion and live voice translation, mostly aimed at contact centers and global teams.
Krisp's voice AI runs on over 200 million devices and is used by companies including Discord, Twilio, and VMware.
Is Krisp free?
Not permanently. Krisp has a 7-day free trial with full access and no credit card, but no free-forever plan. After the trial you pick a paid plan. See our free plan breakdown and pricing guide.
Is Krisp safe?
Noise cancellation is processed on your device, so raw audio is cleaned locally rather than uploaded for that step. Krisp also supports SOC 2, PCI DSS, and HIPAA on the right plans. For a full assessment, read our Krisp review.
Which devices does Krisp run on?
Krisp runs on Windows and Mac, with mobile apps for iOS and Android. To install it, see our download guide.
